Walking Tour
The Girlfriend resting Her head
on the back of the Boyfriend
as They wait for the walk sign
to change from orange to white/green
(I too am in love)
*
The drama that exists between
the group of Men when King Solomon
is mentioned as the ostentatious volume
of the hi-hop beat is being blasted
(I too am excited)
*
The amalgamation of Bodies’
size & color crashing as
They cross the street, the waves
in the river frothing to spike
like frosting on a cake
(I too am a mixture of others)
*
The sun perfectly wedged
between two glass office buildings—
their various kinds of architecture:
Art Deco, Neo-Classical, Postmodern
(I too am beautiful)
*
The expression of awe
on the Man’s face
as He looks up
at the towers size & scale
(I too feel small from down here)
